Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Identify hazards
   • Recognised sources of information, data and advice on power generating plant and equipment hazards are accessed, in accordance with workplace procedures and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
   • Hazardous situations associated with use of generating plant and equipment are identified, analysed and managed, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Key stakeholders are identified and consulted, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • WHS/OHS recording and reporting procedures on hazards and risks are reviewed and managed

12. Isolation procedures are implemented and managed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to ensure continued safety of all workplace personnel
13. Maintenance procedures are documented and communicated to all personnel to ensure generating plant and equipment are safe, in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Modifications to generating plant or equipment are recorded in return to service documentation.
15. Work practices are monitored and modified, as required, for safe operation of generating plant and equipment, in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Maintenance systems are monitored and evaluated for safe operation of generating plant and equipment
17. Identify and manage licensing and certification issues
    • WHS/OHS legislative requirements for plant registration, operator licensing or authorisation are identified and communicated to key stakeholders
18. Training to meet WHS/OHS regulatory requirements is identified and communicated to key stakeholders
19. WHS/OHS compliance for operator licensing, registration or authorisation is managed, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Records of operator competencies in working with generating plant and equipment are managed, in accordance with workplace procedures
21. Review and evaluate risk control measures
    • Risk control measures are reviewed and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures, and risk assessments are conducted
22. Risk control plans are developed in consultation with key stakeholders, and are managed, in accordance with workplace procedures
23. Record system is managed for generating plant, equipment and systems of work, in accordance with workplace procedures
24. WHS/OHS improvements are implemented and managed, in consultation with key stakeholders
25. WHS/OHS management system is evaluated, reviewed and reported on, in accordance with workplace procedures to ensure generating plant safety
